A radio communication apparatus that performs first radio communication using a first channel among two first channels each having a first channel width, and second radio communication using a second channel having a second channel width that is wider than the first channel width and also having a channel width overlapping with the two first channels. The apparatus includes an interference detection device which detects that interference occurs in the first channel among the two first channels, and a frame generation unit which generates a notification frame that recommends the use of only the first channel width. An instruction unit instructs the frame generation unit to generate the notification frame when the occurrence of interference is detected by the interference detection device. A frame transmission unit transmits the notification frame generated from the frame generation unit in response to the instruction from the instruction unit.

This system has the potential to revolutionize the usage of Power Line Communications with applications such as automatic identification, power control, and payment/ticketing through the power lines.

The RF signal is transmitted by electric-field coupling between the EFC antennas, facing each other, of the transmitter and the receiver.

A battery outputs DC power through a power line, a reader/writer communicates by outputting a high-frequency signal through the power line to read authentication information of an electronic device when the electronic device is connected to the battery through the power line, a microcomputer stores the read authentication information and controls the battery when first connection to the electronic device is performed, and performs an authentication process of the electronic device based on the read authentication information and the authentication information stored in the first connection and controls the battery according to a result of the authentication process of the electronic device when second or subsequent connection to the electronic device is performed. This technology may be applied to the battery device mounted on a power-assisted bicycle, for example.

The present invention provides a battery device, battery management system, and a battery management method that are capable of simplifying battery management. The battery device (11) comprises a battery (51), an IC chip (53), and a DC inhibiting unit (52). The DC power from the battery (51) is output via power lines (17, 18). Stored battery information is output via the power lines (17, 18) by the IC chip (53) load modulating AC signals given and received via the power lines (17, 18). The DC inhibiting unit (52) inhibits the DC power that has been output via the power lines (17, 18) from being input into the IC chip (53). A voltage generating unit (151) can be provided that is connected in parallel to the IC chip (53) and which supplies to the IC chip (53) voltage generated by AC signals given and received via the power lines (17, 18). This method can be applied to electronic devices.
