A system that monitors various conditions of a plurality of hospital beds located in different rooms of a healthcare facility is provided. Alternatively or additionally, other types of equipment may be monitored by the system. Various configurations of network interface units that are coupleable to or integrated into a hospital bed are also disclosed. The system receives data from the hospital beds and/or other equipment and initiates a communication to a wireless communication device of at least one designated caregiver in response to the received data being indicative of an alarm condition.

Configurable system for alerting caregivers

A patient/nurse call system (10) for a hospital includes patient stations (18) capable of generating hospital calls and a remote master station (32) which prioritizes and stores the calls. Hall units (28) outside patient rooms (14) identify the rooms (14) from which the calls originate and the type of call. Each patient station (18) allows selective retrieval and display of unanswered calls, and the system (10) further permits audio interconnection between any two of the stations (18, 32). Nurse-worn badges (26) transmit pulse-coded infrared signals which are received by receivers (121) at the patient stations (18) and in response, the system (10) generates identity and location signals which are stored at the master station (32). The nurse location and identity information may also be retrieved and displayed at any patient station (18). Receipt of a nurse's (11) infrared signal at a room station (18) automatically cancels a patient call originating from the room (14) and display thereof by the respective hall unit (28), while actuating a display (122) to indicate nurse (11) presence. By using the nurse call button (22), the patient can establish telephonic communications between the patient station (18) and a wireless telephone (64) being carried by a remotely located nurse.

Patient/nurse call system

A system and method of encouraging compliance of hand hygiene in an environment where users move from zone to zone and are required to perform hand hygiene between the zones. Users carry a wearable zone sensor which detects zones, detects hand hygiene actions, logs time of changing zones, and hand hygiene actions. The wearable sensor can be integral with a wearable hand hygiene product dispenser and/or can operate in cooperation with a fixed dispenser configured to transmit hand hygiene actions to the wearable zone sensor. The wearable zone sensors are configured to be useable anonymously or to be associated with a user identifier, and to interface with a central computer via a docking station or communication interface to transfer data for later analysis.

Hand hygiene compliance system

Alerts (13) are generated at mobile entity devices (12) and servers (16). The alerts are examined at the servers and handled by the server and/or forwarded to a clearing house (22). At the clearing house, emergency events (40) are created in response to the alerts by an event module (36). A notify module (38) compares events to an information need (304) associated with a subscriber profile (46) to determine whether a subscriber associated with the subscriber profile should be notified about events. The notify module also handles interactive search requests from a client (20) for the events.

Method and System for Situation Tracking and Notification

A hospital bed has wireless communication circuitry operable to transmit wirelessly bed status data. A surface supported by the bed has wireless communication circuitry operable to transmit wirelessly surface status data. The wireless communication circuitry of the hospital bed and the wireless communication circuitry of the surface communicate with a network independently. A hospital bed with an integrated surface has wireless communication circuitry operable to transmit wirelessly bed status data and surface status data. The wireless bed status data and the wireless surface status data are received by wireless access points of a network of a healthcare facility.

A system for supervising and guiding workers at various places in a construction such as an underground substation, underground market, building, or tunnel is disclosed which includes a number of receivers arranged in a number of sections of the construction for receiving infrared radiation emitted from workers to produce a detection signal, a detection device arranged in a central control room for processing the detection signals supplied from the receivers to detect positions of workers in the construction, and communication devices provided in each section and the central control room for providing the workers with various kinds of instructions, commands and messages for preventing a disaster and escaping an emergency.

Monitor and command guide system using electromagnetic wave

PURPOSE: To continue to transmit the power to a sound section by immediately discriminating the fault section when an accident occurs in a substation and by separating the fault section from the sound section. CONSTITUTION: On a bus bar 1 between banks 4 to 6 in a substation, bus disconnectors 9 and 10 and photo-CT 11 and 12 are installed respectively, while relays 13 and 14 are provided with which the current direction of the faulty current is detected by the photo-CT 11 and 12, decides the direction of the faulted current outflow with relays 13 and 14, from the result of which the section where the accident occurred is automatically detected and by releasing the bus disconnectors 9 and 10 automatic separation of the fault section is performed.
