A mobile terminal and a control method thereof, which can obtain an image, are provided. A mobile terminal (100) includes a camera unit (121), a pictogram extraction unit (182) and a controller (180). The camera unit (121) obtains image information corresponding to at least one of a still image and a moving image. The pictogram extraction unit (182) extracts at least one pictogram from the obtained image information. The controller (180) detects information related to the extracted pictogram, and displays the detected information to be overlapped with the obtained image information. In the mobile terminal, the controller (180) includes, as the detected information, at least one of previously recorded information and currently searched information related to the extracted pictogram.

Crystallographic texturing of polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramics offers a means of achieving significant enhancements in the piezoelectric response. Templated grain growth (TGG) enables the fabrication of textured ceramics with single crystal-like properties, as well as single crystals. In TGG, nucleation and growth of the desired crystal on aligned single crystal template particles results in an increased fraction of oriented material with heating. To facilitate alignment during forming, template particles must be anisometric in shape. To serve as the preferred sites for epitaxy and subsequent oriented growth of the matrix, the template particles need to be single crystal and chemically stable up to the growth temperature. Besides templating the growth process, the template particles may also serve as seed sites for phase formation of a reactive matrix. Templated Grain Growth of Textured Piezoelectric Ceramics

A phenomenological thermodynamic theory of PbTiO3 was developed using a modified Devonshire form of the elastic Gibbs free energy. The spontaneous strain as a function of temperature was determined from pure sol‐gel derived PbTiO3 powder and used with selected data from the literature to determine the coefficients of the energy function. The theoretical prediction of the phase stability, spontaneous polarization and strains, and dielectric and piezoelectric properties agree well with experimental data. This theory provides a way of predicting the intrinsic single domain dielectric and piezoelectric properties of PbTiO3, which have not been completely determined from experimental measurements.

Thermodynamic theory of PbTiO3

A method is provided for modifying an image. The method comprises displaying an image, the image comprising a portion of an object; and determining if an edge of the object is in a location within the portion. The method further comprises detecting movement, in a member direction, of an operating member with respect to the edge. The method still further comprises moving, if the edge is not in the location, the object in an object direction corresponding to the detected movement; and modifying, if the edge is in the location, the image in response to the detected movement, the modified image comprising the edge in the location.

Information processing apparatus, information processing method and program

Highly c‐axis oriented and epitaxial PbTiO3 thin films were grown on MgO single crystals and epitaxial Pt film substrates by the rf‐magnetron sputtering method. The films with a 98% c‐axis orientation rate were obtained under low deposition rate (<20 A/min) and low gas pressure (∼1 Pa) using a PbO‐rich target. Phase transition of the PbTiO3 thin film was studied by high‐temperature x‐ray diffraction. It was found that the c‐axis of the tetragonal phase was parallel to the substrate just below Tc and the c‐axis becomes perpendicular to the substrate with lowering of temperature. These films show high resistivity (∼1010/Ω cm). It was found that significant pyroelectric currents are detected on all specimens without poling treatment. The polarization directions of the films are the same in all specimens. One of these films had a low relative dielectric constant of 97 and a high pyroelectric coefficient of 2.5×10−8 C/cm2 K without poling treatment. These films will be suitable for applications such as pyroelectric infrared detector and piezoelectric transducer.

Preparation of c‐axis oriented PbTiO3 thin films and their crystallographic, dielectric, and pyroelectric properties

A piezoelectric ceramic material having low dielectric constant, high thickness coupling factor, high mechanical quality factor, high stability, and high operating temperature, has been prepared from PbTiO3 incorporated with 2.5 mol% of LaO12 and 1.0 mol% of MnO2. Typical electromechanical constants of this material are as follows: dielectric constant e11T/e0 230, e33T/e0 170; coupling factor k33 0.46, kt 0.46, k15 0.28, kp 0.07, k31 0.04; mechanical quality factor Q 1100, Poisson's ratio σE 0.20. Frequency constants Nt and N3t of the fundamental and third‐harmonic thickness vibrations have temperature coefficients of −1.1 × 10−4°C−1 and −2 × 10−5°C−1, respectively. Aging rates of Nt and N3t, are +0.02% and −0.02%/time decade at 30°C, respectively. The Curie point of this material exists at 470°C, and k33 and kt increase gradually with temperature up to 400°C. In a vehicle alarm sound output device and a program, position data of an obstacle(s) and sound data of an alarm sound are output from an obstacle detector to DSP of a virtual sound source generator. Position data of a tire having air pressure abnormality and sound data of an alarm sound are output from an abnormality detector to DSP. Position data of a target object of a route guidance and sound data of a voice are output from a position detector to DSP. In DSP, an audio signal with which a virtual sound source can be implemented is created by using a detection signal/localization position converting table and head related transfer functions, and the audio signal thus created is output to a sound output unit. In the sound output unit, the signal corresponding to the audio signal is output to speakers so that a passenger(s) can hear an alarm sound such as a warning sound, a voice guidance or the like from the localization position of a virtual sound source.

Vehicle alarm sound outputting device and program

A user interface device detects a fingertip placed on an imaging range. The imaging range is located or arranged so that a user inserts and place a hand along a predetermined direction. A device detects a tip area corresponding to the fingertip from the imaging range. The device determines whether the detected tip area is a finger or not. The determination can be performed by evaluating a size of the tip area, for example, whether the width is in an appropriate range or not. If the tip area is verified as a finger, a position of the fingertip is calculated. According to the device, it is possible to determine whether it is a finger or not by using a relatively simple algorithm. As a result, it is possible to eliminate objects other than finger and to provide sufficient accuracy for detecting the fingertip.

User interface device

An input section includes a palm rest and a hand detection sensor on the top surface of a housing. The input section also includes, for example, an analog resistive touch panel above the housing to the front. A palm rest is used as a base for placing a palm for manipulating the touch panel and has a flat surface slightly forward with reference to a horizontal level. The touch panel tilts below the surface of the palm rest. The touch panel is given a tilt angle so that the fingertip or the finger cushion naturally touches the surface (panel surface) of the touch panel when the palm is placed on the palm rest.
