A plasma display device includes: a dielectric layer on which a plurality of through-holes of a dielectric layer is disposed in a matrix shape; upper and lower electrode layers formed at both upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric layer; upper and lower substrates disposed on the outer surface of the upper and lower electrode layers; and a third electrode layer having a plurality of third electrodes which are formed between the upper substrate and the upper electrode layer, or the lower substrate and the lower electrode layer, and are insulated from the upper and lower electrode layers. Accordingly, a plasma display device can be realized which has stability and efficiency of a micro discharge. In addition, each pixel can concurrently carry out a sustain discharge by applying an alternating voltage to upper and lower electrodes forming sustain electrodes.

A protective casing structure of an electronic apparatus capable of keeping the apparatus compact and light is provided. A display-side block includes a display module and a display casing. The display casing is provided with frame edges at a periphery thereof, with projections formed on the frame edges. Grooves engaging with the projections are formed in a system casing. When the display-side block is closed, the projections engage with the grooves to increase rigidity against pressing from the outside in the closed state. The casing structure thereby increases the protective capability of the display module while keeping the apparatus compact and light.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which suppresses an increase of weight and space of the device to the minimum, has the strength durable for the requirements such as vibration and impact as well as improper load and has the dissipation function for the heat dissipated from a module in order to permit the use of the plasma display device in the dynamic environment. SOLUTION: A reinforcing material 15 of a sandwich panel (laminated panel) in which a honeycomb core 151 made of aluminium alloy is interposed between aluminium alloy sheets 153 is disposed on the rear face of the display module 10. The reinforcing material 15 is light in weight, at the same time, the items required for the improper load is satisfied and the heat dissipating function is retained by disposing a cooling fin 171 on the inner surface of a supporting member 17 disposed on the reinforcing material 15.

In addition, the display screen 13 is equipped with a through-hole 14 in matrix that arranges the tip end A1, B1, C1, D1, of the plastic optical fiber in each image-forming block 11A, 11B, 11C, 11D, and also, the tip end A1, B1, C1, D1, of the plural plastic optical fibers that become a pixel at the same place in each image-forming block 11A, 11B, 11C, 11D is arranged to form one pixel.
