Disclosed is a flame-retardant polyamide composition excellent in fluidity during molding and granulation ability on a twin-screw extruder or the like. A molded article produced from the composition is excellent in mechanical properties including stiffness, heat resistance and flame retardancy during a reflow soldering process, and shows low warpage. Specifically disclosed is a flame-retardant polyamide composition comprising 20 to 80 mass % of a specific polyamide resin (A), 1 to 40 mass % of a flame retardant (B), 5 to 60 mass % of a glass fiber (C), and 0.5 to 5 mass % of an auxiliary flame retardant (D), which can be molded in an article having reduced warpage. Preferably, the glass fiber (C) has a cross section having an aspect ratio of greater than 3.

Flame -retardant polyamide composition

The invention relates to a halogen-free, flame retarder composition for use in a thermoplastic composition, in particular a glassfibre-reinforced polyamide composition, which flame retarder composition contains at least 10-90 mass % phosphinate compound according to formula (I) and/or formula (II) and/or polymers thereof and 90-10 mass % polyphosphate salt of a 1,3,5-triazine compound according to formula (III) and 0-30 mass % olefin copolymer. When used as a flame retarder in glassfibre-reinforced compositions the halogen-free flame retardant composition results in a combination of a V-0 rating according to the UL 94 test of Underwriters Laboratories and excellent mechanical properties. The invention therefore also relates to the use of this flame retarder composition as a flame retarder in a polyamide composition, and a flame retardant polyamide composition that contains the flame retarder composition. The invention also relates to a moulded article containing the flame retardant polyamide composition, and the use thereof in the field of electrical and electronic applications.

Halogen-free flame retarder composition and flame retardant polyamide composition

The present invention provides a flame retardant resin composition excellent in impact resistance, heat resistance, dimensional stability, and flame retardance. That is, it provides a flame retardant resin composition comprising: 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin (A) comprising: 80 to 10% by weight of (A-1) at least one of an aromatic polyester resin and a polyamide resin, 17 to 85% by weight of at least one of a rubber-containing copolymer of a vinyl cyanide and an aromatic vinyl (A-2) and a copolymer of a vinyl cyanide and an aromatic vinyl (A-3) and 3 to 40% by weight of (A-4) at least one of a polyphenylene ether resin and a polyphenylene sulfide resin, 1 to 60 parts by weight of a non-halogen, organic flame retardant (B) and 100 parts by weight or less of a filler (C).
