An ink-jet recording medium having a support and, provided thereon, at least one ink receiving layer containing polymeric organic particles, characterized in that said polymeric organic particles have a glass transition temperature of 40 °C or higher, and are amphoteric polymeric organic particles having both functional groups of cationic groups and anionic groups. The ink-jet recording medium is excellent in ink absorbing property, coloring concentration, gloss, and the resistance to water, light and yellowing, in particular, excellent in ink absorbing property, coloring concentration, gloss, and the resistance to light and yellowing.

The present invention relates to an ink jet recording element having very good dye keeping properties in time. Said ink jet recording element comprises a support and at least one ink-receiving layer, said ink-receiving layer comprising at least one hydrosoluble binder and at least one aluminosilicate polymer obtainable by a preparation method consisting in treating an aluminum halide with an alkyl orthosilicate only having hydrolyzable functions with an aqueous alkali in the presence of silanol groups, the aluminum concentration being maintained less than 0.3 mol/l, the Al/Si molar ratio being maintained between 1 and 3.6 and the alkali/Al molar ratio being maintained between 2.3 and 3; and then stirring the resulting mixture at ambient temperature in the presence of silanol groups for long enough to form the aluminosilicate polymer.

Disclosed is an inkjet recording material comprising at least two ink-receiving layers, namely a lower ink-receiving layer containing a pigment and a binder and an upper ink-receiving layer, which are arranged on a supporting body. This inkjet recording material is characterized in that the upper ink-receiving layer contains a pigment of fine agglomerates of silica, alumina or an alumina hydrate having an average particle diameter of 0.008-0.7 µm, and a pigment of coarse particles having an average particle diameter of 1-30 µm. The inkjet recording material is further characterized in that 1-15 parts by mass of the coarse particle pigment is contained per 100 parts by mass of the fine agglomerates pigment.
