In the solenoid layer, the transverse width of the one positioned nearer to an upper bottom side of the trapezoid becomes narrower than the width of the one positioned nearer to a lower bottom side of the trapezoid, and the height becomes larger in the same way. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil and an armature suited for use as the stator coil of a slotless motor or the like. SOLUTION: A conductor 4 is spirally wounded to have space in the middle so as to form a spiral body. The coil is arranged by placing a plurality of spiral bodies in the lateral direction. Also, the coil includes a crossover cable 5 which connects one spiral body 3 with another spiral body 3 and extends along the wounded direction of the spiral bodies 3. The conductor portion extended from the terminal end of the crossover cable 5 in a bending manner forms part of the winding of another adjacent spiral body 3.
