Antibacterial and antiandrogen flavonoids from Sophora flavescens.

TL;DR: Sixteen flavanones, three flavanonols, and four pterocarpans isolated from the MeOH extract of the roots of Sophora flavescens exhibited significant antibacterial activities against the Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, S. epidermidis, and Propionibacterium acnes.

Phytoalexins from hairy roots of Hyoscyamus albus treated with methyl jasmonate.

TL;DR: The treatment of hairy roots of Hyoscyamus albus with copper sulfate (Cu2+) and methyl jasmonate (JAMe) produced several phytoalexins having the vetispyrane skeleton, including lubimin and solavetivone.
