Wind effects on snowdrift on stepped flat roofs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between snowdrift and wind flow on buildings, and to predict the snowdrifts from wind flow patterns around a model building with a stepped flat roof.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wind loads and wind-induced dynamic behavior of a single-layer latticed dome

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of a rigidly jointed single-layer lattice dome with a long span on the structure of the pressure field was investigated. And the results indicated that the dynamic response is dominated by several vibration modes, such as the first three or four axisymmetric modes and a few lower asymmetric modes with small wave numbers both in the circumferential and in the radial direction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Model of wind pressure field on circular flat roofs and its application to load estimation

TL;DR: In this article, the characteristics of wind pressures acting on circular flat roofs have been investigated based on the data obtained from a wind tunnel experiment, and a simple model of the pressure field is provided as a function of the geometric parameters of the building and the turbulence parameters of an approach flow.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wind-induced dynamic behavior and its load estimation of a single-layer latticed dome with a long span

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the results of some basic investigations on the wind-induced dynamic behavior and the resultant load estimation of a single-layer lattice dome with a long span.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wind-induced dynamic response and resultant load estimation of a circular flat roof

TL;DR: In this article, the design wind load for the structural frame of a circular flat roof has been investigated, based on a statistical analysis of the dynamic response to turbulent wind forces, where the roof structure is supposed to act like an elastic plate under wind loading.
