The hotel industry is a very important part of the tourist economic system, and it is the
 backbone of hospitality and catering accommodation services. Nowadays the guest expects
 a good service, which does not only include accommodation in the hotel as a building, but
 consists of a number of elements of tourist offers that are interconnected. For a good or
 quality service, the guest is willing to give the money equivalent, while ensuring and
 continuously improving the quality of the hotel industry's service becomes competitive.
 Quality in tourism can be managed in the way of developing development plans that
 establish a quality business model of tourism. Benchmarking as a method of collecting and
 processing information on business quality is an important segment in insurance and
 quality monitoring in tourism. A project called BHH (Benchmarking of the Croatian Hotel
 Industry) is being implemented in Croatia, which provides comparative results and all the
 necessary assumptions for the comparison of the quality of hotel services at the level of the
 Republic of Croatia. There is still little attention paid to the quality of service in Croatia,
 but the awareness of the hoteliers is growing, as it is necessary to work on innovations and
 continually improve the qualities of hotel services. Using an example of working practice
 is to show how successful marketing and improvements in quality assurance services
 within the Plitvice Lakes National Park increase the number of tourists year after year.
 Foreign tourists recognize the quality of hotel services within the boundaries of the Park,
 and thus make up the majority of the percentage of nights spent, while domestic tourists
 choose, in large percentages, private accommodation close to the Park. Therefore, quality
 assurance and continuous improvement of hotel service depends on the expectations of the
 guest and the standard of the offered service.

Upravljanje kvalitetom u turizmu i hotelskoj industriji

Purpose: During the pandemic, two types of fear were identified that occur significantly in all groups or profiles of people. The aim of this paper is to determine which of the two types of fears exist in certain psychological groups, and which of the fears strongly influence the decision to travel. Design/methodology/approach: The VALS 2 method and standardized questionnaire were used for the segmentation of the tourist market or for the determination of the psychographic profiles of the consumers, and three additional questions were joined to it as they were vital for the research of the type of fear and its impact on the decision for traveling. When the reliability of the questionnaire and the validity of the sample were determined, the data were further processed using a computer program package IMB AMOS SPSS 21.00, and then, based on the theoretical suppositions and hypotheses, the SEM structural model was created. Findings: The paper indicates the existence of established types of fears in humans, when it comes to pandemics and similar crisis situations. People are most afraid of infection during travel, and lack of funds and job loss during the critical period of the pandemic. The research conducted confirms that all groups of people, who are determined by the psychological technique VALS 2, react with a certain dose of fear and make decisions under the pressure of fears. Research limitations/implications: The research had limitations in terms of contact with people and conducting live surveys. The measures during the pandemic, which were carried out by the state, included social distance and limited movement of people. Practical implications: The work can contribute to the community, along with similar research. The results of the research will be available, and it will be possible to see the behavior of people during crisis situations, and the impact of fears on making decisions, both travel decisions and decisions related to other areas of life. Originality/value: The paper provides research results on a large sample of respondents, and can serve as a basis for further research in the field of tourism, psychology and similar fields. The power of fears in the travel decision – covid-19 against lack of money

Novi Sad, as the second largest city in Serbia, is nominated for the European Capital of Culture for 2021. In addition, the city has a rich traditional gastronomic resource base, belonging to over 16 nationalities living in the Vojvodina area (Autonomous Province of Serbia). This study aims to analyze the impact of Instagram, on the choice of catering facility and type of food, and to discover the extent to which it creates confidence to gastronomic consumers and the brand of the product or service.,The study presents a survey, which involves sharing survey questionnaires and gathering information from research participants. The sample of the survey included only the local population during 2019 year, on a random sample of 155 participants.,Of the total number of respondents, the highest percentage of them follow Instagram posts related to gastronomic objects, compared to other social networks. The results of this study undoubtedly show that consumers have great confidence in this social network and that it creates a certain brand and attitude on the basis of which consumers will choose a catering facility or food.,The process of interviewing people in gastronomy, regarding the impact of social networks on brand, attitude and consumer confidence, can provide an excellent insight into the current situation as well as influence changes that would contribute to better business of restaurant facilities in Serbia.,Doing survey research is much more significant in the field of tourism and gastronomy, as these are industries that are primarily the human sector. The personal attitude of the direct users of the services in the restaurant facilities can contribute to the overall picture of the state of gastronomy in this area.,The study contributes to the development of contemporary gastronomy, which is on the rise compared to many other branches of the economy in Serbia. Researching the impact of service providers, through social networks, on consumers is a way of reaching out to learn about the level of service quality and customer satisfaction achieved, as well as creating loyal consumers and better position in the market.

Creating brand confidence to gastronomic consumers through social networks – a report from Novi Sad

Beer may not be the oldest alcoholic beverage, but it is definitely among the most popular alcoholic beverages in Serbia today. The authors conducted a survey in 2019, during three major beer festivals, on a total sample of 542 festival visitors. The authors set the goal of the research: sensory preferences, habits, knowledge of the beer production process and a healthy lifestyle influence the choice of beer type, in respondents older than 18 years. Further, the goal was to investigate the extent to which craft tourism can be developed in Serbia, and to be an aid in sustainable tourism development. SPSS software, version 26.00, was used for data processing. Descriptive statistical analysis determined the average values for all items from the given research groups. The authors considered that, for determining the group of factors, which may have the strongest predictor power in predicting beer choice, the best results can be given by Binary Logistic Regression. The logarithm of chances, chances and probabilities has also been determined whether in some future period all festival visitors over the age of 18 will be chosen for craft beer instead of factory beer. The obtained results show that visitors mainly consume craft beer, and that sensory tendencies play a leading role in preserving and creating quality, as well as attracting regular consumers and visitors to craft tourism. The importance of the research is undoubtedly seen in resolving the existing doubts about the quality of beer and creating a craft tourist market in Serbia. In addition, the research can improve the measures around the creation of a recognizable identity of the Serbian beer festival, on the wider tourist market.

Creating Opportunities for the Development of Craft Beer Tourism in Serbia as a New Form of Sustainable Tourism

Serbia is traditionally a wine-growing region and it is slowly approaching those countries that have benefited from the development of this type of tourism. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the Trstenik vineyard district, whose wine-growing areas, although within a small municipality in Central Serbia, are one of the largest in the country within the Three Morava Rivers region. The Trstenik vineyard district can take a chance and find its place in this specific tourism market. The aim of the paper is to present all the strengths and opportunities, but also the threats and weaknesses for the development of wine tourism in this wine district. This is presented through SWOT analysis. All the results could be used to make this municipality as wine tourism destination in Serbia.

SWOT analysis of wine tourism development opportunities in the Trstenik vineyard district

This paper gives an overview of the quality of tourism service in rural areas of the South Backa District, one of the most economically developed parts of Serbia. The main objective of the research is to determine the correlation between the expected and perceived values of the quality of service by collecting and processing data. The modified SERVQUAL questionnaire was applied in the study, and all obtained data were analyzed in the SPSS software 23.00. As a result of the survey, it was found that tourists had significantly higher expectations than perceived service. The results obtained can serve for broader thematic research and contribute to the definition of appropriate corrective actions to improve the quality of tourism services in the selected rural area. Moreover, these are the key propositions to start an initiative for the improvement of tourism services in any undeveloped rural setting with a tourism offer. The results provide tourism organizers and local authorities with important visitors’ perpceptions pertaining to the quality of rural tourism service.

Possibilities of Turning Passive Rural Areas into Tourist Attractions Through Attained Service Quality

Generally tourism as a business has never had an enviable position on the market in comparison to other branches of the economy. Serbia is a country of rural space, but this form of tourism is not in the expansion. A poor economic and political situation in the last years of the 20th century contributed to a large extent to the bad condition of tourist activity. The authors of the paper conducted a field research in the area of Middle Banat in order to discover the perception of the local population about the significance of the development of this activity. The survey was conducted in May 2017 in five municipalities of Middle Banat, and the results clearly indicate the respondents’ lack of awareness of the significance of the development of agritourism, although there are real preconditions for the massive development of this activity. Residents recognize the range of positive and negative effects of tourism development, but the degree to which they are willing to tolerate negative effects depends on their involvement in tourism, the length of their stay in the destination and their exposure to tourism traffic in everyday life.

Wine trails of Irig municipality: Perspectives of development

The participation of women in the rural tourism development of Serbia is not at a satisfactory level because it marks the predominant satisfaction of basic existential needs, with a high representation of material deprivation. The participation of women in the social community is very superficial, a pronounced passive cultural pattern, and the lifestyle of women in the countryside is mainly focused on reproduction. The authors of the paper aimed to, with the help of a survey interview in the field, establish the degree of participation of women, as well as their position in tourism development in Serbia. The research was conducted in the municipality of Sid, during a traditional event dedicated to women in the countryside. The obtained results, processed in the SPSS software, version 23.00, undoubtedly prove the poor position of women and their insufficient contribution to the development of tourism. The importance of the work emphasizes the issue of women's position in rural areas and activities, based on the results obtained, it is possible to contribute to corrective measures and strengthening the female workforce in this economic sector.
