This base material can be prepared by reacting an alkali metal silicate solution with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid in the presence of an electrolyte, controlling the ratio of the rate of addition of chloride ion or sulfate ion to be at least 3:2 between the acidification stage in which the pH at the completion of the reaction is brought to 3.5 or less, and the silica crystallization stage in which the pH of the reaction system if brought to 10.0, and carrying out the acidification stage within 30 minutes.

PURPOSE:To enable the volume production of high-quality product having high decorativeness by firing an enamel on the base body formed with an oxide film and firing cloisonne through screen printing. CONSTITUTION:Anodic oxidation treatment is applied on the surface of a ware body 1 such as spoon made of stainless steel to form an oxide film 2 thereon. Next, an enamel layer 3 fired with an enamel is formed. A film body 5 printed with cloisonne glaze 6 to suitable patterns is placed on the suitable position of the enamel layer 3 and is fired. At this time, the film body 5 melts by heat and the cloisonne patterns are fired and bonded onto the enamel layer 3. The gas evolved from the enamel escapes through the fine meshes of the cloisonne patterns, by which the peculiar ombre cloisonne patterns are obtained. This method lets the ware body 1, enamel layer 3 and closionne layer 4 bond firmly and eliminates the likelihood of causing the production of defectives owing to peeling and crazing.

PURPOSE:To produce enameled products having individually variable picture patterns by a method wherein an enamel material is fired on an iron base material, which is bonded with a transfer paper having picture patterns printed with ink containing a foaming agent that expands as a temperature below the enamel firing temperature, and then is fired. CONSTITUTION:An ink is prepared by adding into pigment or printing oil a proper amount of a power material that expands at a temperature below enamel firing temperature, such as carbon black or CaCO3. The ink is used to print the desired pattern to form a transfer part 3, making a transfer paper 4. Using normal procedure, the transfer paper 4 is bonded on the surface of a kettle A having enamel material 2 fired on base material 1 of iron alloy, which is fired at a low temperature of about 800 deg.C for short period of time about 10min. The process causes the foaming agent to form bubbles just at the beginning of melting glass material and the transfer part 3 to be raised up as a structure having bubbles 5 thereby providing picture pattern having much variations. The process thus provides individual enameled products with each unique picture pattern.
