Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative stress and apoptosis induced by nanosized titanium dioxide in PC12 cells.

TL;DR: Interestingly, pretreatment of N-(mercaptopropionyl)-glycine (N-MPG), known as a type of ROS scavenger formulations, could somehow inhibit PC12 apoptosis induced by the nano-TiO2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influences of nanoparticle zinc oxide on acutely isolated rat hippocampal CA3 pyramidal neurons

TL;DR: It is suggested that 10(-4)g/ml nano-ZnO solution can lead to an enhancement in the current amplitudes of I(Na) and I(K) by increasing the opening number of sodium channels, delaying rectifier potassium channels, and enhancing the excitability of neurons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Action potential changes associated with the inhibitory effects on voltage-gated sodium current of hippocampal CA1 neurons by silver nanoparticles

TL;DR: The results suggest that nano-Ag may alter the action potential of hippocampal CA1 neurons by depressing voltage-gated sodium current.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of nanoparticle zinc oxide on spatial cognition and synaptic plasticity in mice with depressive-like behaviors

TL;DR: Investigation of effects of nanoZnO on animal model of depression indicated that model mice showed disrupted spatial memory and LTP after LPS injections and the behavioral and electrophysiological improvements after nano ZnO treatment suggested that nanoZNO may play some roles in CNS of mental disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro study on influence of nano particles of CuO on CA1 pyramidal neurons of rat hippocampus potassium currents

TL;DR: The results suggested that blockades of K+ currents by nano particles of CuO could be preferential for Ik for the first time, which may interfere with the normal function of nerve cells.
