A Family of Active Iridium Catalysts for Transfer Hydrogenation of Ketones

TL;DR: The air-stable iridium chlorodihydride complex IrH2Cl[(iPr2PC2H4)2NH], 1, was prepared from the reaction of [IrCl(coe)2]2 with the pincer ligand (iPr 2PC 2H4 2NH) in 2-propanol at 80 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics and mechanism of the decomposition of S-nitrosoglutathione by l-ascorbic acid and copper ions in aqueous solution to produce nitric oxide.

TL;DR: The experimental rate and activation parameters suggest that this redox process following an outer-sphere electron transfer mechanism is relatively stable in the dark, aqueous medium and even in the presence of trace quantities of Cu(2+).
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of pesticides in tropical conditions. 1. Kinetic studies of volatilization, hydrolysis, and photolysis of dieldrin and alpha- and beta-endosulfan

TL;DR: In this article, the degradation of three commonly used pesticides in Jamaica, dieldrin (1R,4S,5S,8R)-1,2,3,4,10,10-hexachloro-6,7-epoxy-1, 4,4a,5,6, 7,8, 8,8a-octahydro-endo,exo-1 4:5,8-dimethanonaphthalene] and α- and β-endosulfan 6,7,8.9,10
Journal ArticleDOI

Acrylamide in Caribbean foods - residual levels and their relation to reducing sugar and asparagine content.

TL;DR: The acrylamide levels in commercial and homemade Caribbean foods were determined by pre-derivatisation of acrieslamide to 2-bromopropenamide and analysed by gas chromatography with mass spectrometric (GC/MS) detection and the limit of detection (LOD) for the GC/MS method was found to be dependent on the type of column used.
Journal ArticleDOI

A correlation between infrared stretching mode absorptions and structural angular distortions for the carbonato ligand in a wide variety of complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, a strong correlation has been found between the angular distortion (from D3h) within the carbonato ligand and the separation between the two highest energy CO stretching modes.
