TL;DR: This work has suggested that long-tailed jaegers (Stercorarius longicaudus) diverged recently from great skuas (Catharacta skua) and then reverted to the ancestral jaeger morphology, which is consistent with the hypothesis that Lemming–vegetation dynamics and summer predation are causally interconnected.
