Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic performance of small earth dams with sloping core zones and geosynthetic clay liners using full-scale shaking table tests
Yutaka Sawada,Hiroshi Nakazawa,Tetsuya Oda,Seita Kobayashi,Satoru Shibuya,Toshinori Kawabata +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the seismic performance of small earth dams, with reservoirs on their upstream side, repaired with a sloping core zone and a GCL on the basis of the results of full-scale shaking table tests performed at the E-Defense facility was discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Full-scale shaking table tests for small earth dams with sloping core zone and geosynthetic clay liner
Yutaka Sawada,Hiroshi Nakazawa,Satsuki Kataoka,Seita Kobayashi,Tetsuya Oda,Tomohiro Kobayashi,Satoru Shibuya,Takuzo Yamashita,Kazuo Tani,Kajiwara Koichi,Toshinori Kawabata +10 more
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Field Test for Buried Large Steel Pipes with Thin Wall
TL;DR: In this article, two cases of backfilling methods were employed: soil-cement was used as backfill material to a height of half the diameter measured from the bottom of the pipe.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of geosynthetic clay liner laid in a staircase shape in embankment on seismic behavior of small earth dam
Tetsuya Oda,Yutaka Sawada,Hiroshi Nakazawa,Seita Kobayashi,Satoru Shibuya,Toshinori Kawabata +5 more
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Field Measurement and Numerical Analysis for Buried Large Diameter Steel Pipes
Toshinori Kawabata,Yoshiyuki Mohri,Tetsuya Oda,Daisuke Shoda,Mitsuru Ariyoshi,Hirofumi Nakashima +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an overview of field tests for buried pipe, which were conducted using steel pipes with 3500 mm diameter and 26 mm thickness, and they found that the behavior of the buried pipe was strongly influenced by backfilling methods.
