Proceedings ArticleDOI

Very Deep Self-Attention Networks for End-to-End Speech Recognition.

TL;DR: This work proposes to use self-attention via the Transformer architecture as an alternative to time-delay neural networks and shows that deep Transformer networks with high learning capacity are able to exceed performance from previous end-to-end approaches and even match the conventional hybrid systems.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Improving Sequence-To-Sequence Speech Recognition Training with On-The-Fly Data Augmentation

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of three data augmentation methods on the performance of two sequence-to-sequence (S2S) model architectures is examined. But, the authors do not examine the effect of these methods on S2S model performance.

Very Deep Self-Attention Networks for End-to-End Speech Recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to use self-attention via the Transformer architecture as an alternative for end-to-end sequence-tosequence models for speech recognition.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Dynamic transcription for low-latency speech translation

TL;DR: A novel scheme which reduces the latency of a large scale speech translation system drastically and within this scheme, the transcribed text and its translation can be updated when more context is available, even after they are presented to the user.

The IWSLT 2019 KIT Speech Translation System

TL;DR: KIT’s submission to the IWSLT 2019 Speech Translation task on two sub-tasks corresponding to two different datasets, including a new transformer-based architectures for the speech recognition module is described.
