Systems and Methods for Secure Transaction Management and Electronic Rights Protection

A system, method, and article of manufacture are provided for technology sharing during demand and supply planning in a network-based supply chain environment. Steps included are providing locator and mapping capabilities utilizing the network. Technology that includes streaming audio, stereo audio and video data is also shared utilizing the network. Encryption capabilities for the technology are also included. Further, searching capabilities are provided utilizing the network in addition to logging events and passive user profiling. The event logging includes logging network operations. User profile data is automatically received and stored. User profile data includes user identity, state, preferences and interests. User profile data is also automatically exported to an active profile manager which automatically adds additional user profile data. Additional user profile data includes information related to whether the user is a service provider or a manufacturer and the location of user.

Technology sharing during demand and supply planning in a network-based supply chain environment

Rights management information is used at least in part in a matching, narrowcasting, classifying and/or selecting process. A matching and classification utility system comprising a kind of Commerce Utility System is used to perform the matching, narrowcasting, classifying and/or selecting. The matching and classification utility system may match, narrowcast, classify and/or select people and/or things, non-limiting examples of which include software objects. The Matching and Classification Utility system may use any pre-existing classification schemes, including at least some rights management information and/or other qualitative and/or parameter data indicating and/or defining classes, classification systems, class hierarchies, category schemes, class assignments, category assignments, and/or class membership. The Matching and Classification Utility may also use at least some rights management information together with any artificial intelligence, expert system, statistical, computational, manual, or any other means to define new classes, class hierarchies, classification systems, category schemes, and/or assign persons, things, and/or groups of persons and/or things to at least one class.

Systems and methods for matching, selecting, narrowcasting, and/or classifying based on rights management and/or other information

A distributed redundant database architecture (10) primarily for storing a plurality of wireless service subscriber files (84, 86) is provided. The database architecture (10) include a first set of processors (44 46, 48) each having a shared memory (72, 74, 76), where the processors (44, 46, 48) are divided into processor groups (38, 40, 42). A memory storage device (80, 82) is coupled to each processor group (38, 40, 42) in a multi-initiator mode so that each memory storage device (80, 82) is accessible by the processors (44, 46, 48) in its respective processor group (38, 40, 42). The plurality of subscriber files (84, 86) are assigned to the processor groups (38, 40, 42) and further assigned to the processors (44, 46, 48) in each processor group (38, 40, 42) to achieve a substantially even distribution. The plurality of subscriber files are stored in the memory storage devices (80, 82) of respective assigned processor groups (38, 40, 42), and are mapped into the respective shared memories (72, 74, 76) of the processors. A database manager (52, 54, 66) associated with the processors and processor groups is provided for managing the distribution and redistribution of the subscriber files to the processors. A second set of similarly configured processors residing at a remote site (14) maintains a second copy of the subscriber files (84, 86) to provide database backup.

Documents and other items can be delivered electronically from sender to recipient with a level of trustedness approaching or exceeding that provided by a personal document courier. A trusted electronic go-between can validate, witness and/or archive transactions while, in some cases, actively participating in or directing the transaction. Printed or imaged documents can be marked using handwritten signature images, seal images, electronic fingerprinting, watermarking, and/or steganography. Electronic commercial transactions and transmissions take place in a reliable, “trusted” virtual distribution environment that provides significant efficiency and cost savings benefits to users in addition to providing an extremely high degree of confidence and trustedness. The systems and techniques have many uses including but not limited to secure document delivery, execution of legal documents, and electronic data interchange (EDI).

Trusted and secure techniques, systems and methods for item delivery and execution

A system and method for managing a telecommunications network. The system and method employs a network management architecture that provides an overlay in which network management functions are performed. The network management architecture includes a workstation function that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for a user to interact with an object model of the physical telecommunications network, a telecommunications network management subsystem that provides an object model of the network including object models of network equipment and connectivity between the equipment, a database subsystem that stores "current" and "future" views of the network, and an object request broker that translates objects from a first object-oriented paradigm to a second object-oriented paradigm for use by the GUI. The network management architecture facilitates network design by determining network performance metrics. The network architecture can also be used to assess the performance of a given network configuration by virtue of simulation. The network architecture can also be used to initialize switchover logic for network restoration.
