TL;DR: The N-terminal 7 amino acids are not needed for sex-peptide function, whereas the disulfide bridge appears essential, and all results are consistent with the assumption of only one target molecule for both reactions which is accessible via hemolymph.

TL;DR: A peptide homologous to the Drosophila melanogaster sex-peptide (SP) was isolated from Dosophila suzukii accessory glands and its amino acid sequence determined and strong homologies in the N- terminal and C-terminal parts of the peptides were revealed.
