An object holder assembly for a vehicle trim component has a vehicle trim body having an opening formed therein. A panel is movably mounted relative to the opening for movement between a retracted position and an extended position in the opening. The panel has a slot formed therein with the slot and the body being configured for receiving and supporting an object therein. The vehicle trim body defines a recess for receiving an object therein, and further can include a plurality of panels, each of the panels being slidably positioned within the recess for movement between the extended and retracted positions. Each of the panels also has a slot formed through a surface of the panel and each lower slot is successively smaller than each successively upper slot. The slots can have differently shaped slots formed therein and the plurality of panels can be stacked in a generally vertical manner.

A holding device to receive a drink container is provided for installation in a horizontal surface, for example a central console of a motor vehicle. In order to be able to accommodate the holding device in a small installation space and to recess it completely in its installation surface, the invention proposes a pivot arm which, after being unlocked, pivots, actuated by a spring, from a recumbent position into an upright position and thereby displaces a displaceable, upright arm upwards into a holding position. In order, with a narrow installation space, to engage securely around an inserted drink container, the holding device further has holding wings which, during the displacement of the displaceable arm into the holding position pivot out laterally.

The holder frame (9) for the drinks has at least one cut-out to hold a drink container and is fitted to a slider (8) which moves along guides (6) under the roof of the glove pocket. The cover (3) for the glove pocket has a drop down fitting hinged about a lower horizontal axis (19), and can be partially closed when the drinks holder is extended.The drinks holder frame has an adjustable mounting on the slider and carries a hinged support bracket (10) which swings down to support the underside of the drinks containers. It is slid swung into a flat storage position by a fixed tag (7) when the holder frame is slid back into the pocket.
