TL;DR: Sxting appears to be part of a cluster of risky sexual behaviors among adolescents and is recommended that clinicians discuss sexting as an adolescent-friendly way of engaging patients in conversations about sexual activity, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and unwanted pregnancy.

TL;DR: Because early sexual debut is correlated with higher rates of sexually transmitted infections and teen pregnancies, pediatricians should discuss sexting with young adolescents because this may facilitate conversations about sexually transmitted infection and pregnancy prevention.

TL;DR: Sending and receiving sexts were positively associated with each other and both behaviors were associated with having peers who sext, and lifetime reports of sexual intercourse, anal sex, oral sex, and recent unprotected sex were positive associated with reports of texting 300 or more times per day.
