TL;DR: The first report of the neurotoxin BOAA from cycad seeds is reported, which was detected from the seeds of Macrozamia moorei and M. communis, and delta-N-oxalyl-ornithine was obtained from the Cycas revoluta seeds.
43 citations
••
TL;DR: Two nonprotein amino acids, cycasindene and cycasthioamide, were isolated from the seeds of Cycas revoluta Thunb and elucidated as 3-[3'-amino-indenyl-2]-alanine and N-[glycinyl-alaninyl-11-thio]-5-one-pipecolic acid by chemical and spectral methods.
28 citations
••
TL;DR: A new clerodane diterpenoid and two new long chain esters of trans- and cis-coumaric acid have been isolated and characterized from Baccharis myrsinites by spectroscopic techniques.
10 citations
••
TL;DR: In this article, a new lupane triterpene fatty acid ester, lup-20(29)-en-3-3(R)-hydroxy-hexadecanoate, has been isolated from the chloroform extract of leaves of Maclura pomifera.
Abstract: A new lupane triterpene fatty acid ester, lup-20(29)-en-3-3(R)-hydroxy-hexadecanoate, has been isolated from the chloroform extract of leaves of Maclura pomifera. The known compounds sitosterol, stigmasterol, uvaol, and lupane 3,28 diol, were also isolated as major constituents. The structures were elucidated with IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopic techniques.

TL;DR: In this article, the structures of cycasindene and cycasthioamide were elucidated as 3-[3′-amino-indenyl-2′]-alanine and N -[glycinyl-alaninyl-11-thio]-5-onepipecolic acid by chemical and spectral methods.
Abstract: Two nonprotein amino acids, cycasindene and cycasthioamide, along with eight known nonprotein amino acids, were isolated from the seeds of Cycas revoluta Thumb. The structures of cycasindene and cycasthioamide were elucidated as 3-[3′-amino-indenyl-2′]-alanine (1) and N -[glycinyl-alaninyl-11-thio]-5-one-pipecolic acid ( 2 ) by chemical and spectral methods.
