An apparatus for applying EM energy to a load may include at least one processor configured to receive information indicative of dissipated energy for each of a plurality of modulation space elements and group a number of the plurality of modulations space elements into at least two subsets based on the information received indicative of dissipated energy. The processor may also be configured to associate a power delivery protocol with each of the at least two subsets wherein the power delivery protocol differs between subsets and regulate energy applied to the load in accordance with each power delivery protocol.

Disclosed herein is a device for heating a scented candle so as to release scent therefrom in the absence of an open flame. The device includes a housing for retaining the candle. The housing is fabricated from a material having a low thermal conductivity. The device further includes an electrical heater in thermal communication with the housing. The heater warms the candle, and the low thermal conductivity housing aids in retaining heat in the candle thereby causing scent to be released therefrom.

A high frequency heating apparatus has an oven-defining structure having an access opening in communication with a heating chamber defined therein, and a hingedly supported metallic door for selectively opening and closing over the access opening. The door has its peripheral area formed with a groove open towards the heating chamber. The bottom of the groove is situated frontwardly of the door with respect to the apparatus. An outerside wall extending from the groove is formed with a plurality of cutouts and a plurality of generally rectangular openings alternating with the cutouts. A segmented partition wall is interposed between the walls of the sealing cavity thereby separating it into two longitudinally extending spaces. A path is formed by the opposing planar surface portions of the wall member and the door which extends from the heating cavity to the sealing cavity resulting in substantial reduction, in combination with the sealing cavity, in the amount of microwave energy leaking from the heating cavity when the heating cavity is radiated with microwave energy from a microwave generator.
