Scale-invariant scale-channel networks: Deep networks that generalise to previously unseen scales.

TL;DR: In this paper, scale invariance is achieved by weight sharing between scale channels together with max or average pooling over the outputs from the scale channels, and the ability of such scale channel networks to generalise to scales not present in the training set over significant scale ranges has been explored.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Classification of carbide distributions using scale selection and directional distributions

TL;DR: The new classification scheme has several advantages: the significant scale of the carbide agglomeration is calculated explicitly, and the method is less sensitive to the variance of spatial connectivity than a morphological approach.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of using absolute versus relative base level when analyzing brain activation images using the scale-space primal sketch.

TL;DR: An evaluation of using one such tool, called the scale-space primal sketch, for brain activation analysis, finds that the global approach with absolute base level has a higher degree of correspondence to a traditional statistical method than a local approach with relative base level.
