SOLUTION: This aqueous suspension preparation for the direct spraying to a flooded paddy field is composed of a herbicidal active component having a water-solubility of <=100 ppm at 20 deg.C, a protective colloid agent, a solvent having high boiling point and water. The protective colloid agent is a polyvinyl alcohol or a water-soluble cellulose ether. The polyvinyl alcohol preferably has an average polymerization degree of <=2,000 and a saponification degree of 69-90 mol.%.

SOLUTION: This aqueous suspension preparation directly scattered on flooding paddy field comprises (A) 0.1-60 wt.% agrochemical active ingredient of a sulforlylurea-based herbicidal active ingredient [e.g. methyl=α-(4,6- dimethoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl)-o-toluate (bensulfuron-methyl)] and/or a herbicidal active ingredient having terminating activities against Panicum crus-galli (e.g. thenylchlor), (B) 0.1-20 wt.% polyvinyl alcohol having <=2,000 average polymerization degree and 69-90 mol.% saponification degree, (C) 1-60 wt.% high boiling point solvent (e.g. ditridecyl phthalate), (D) water, and optionally (E) a thickener, an antifoamer, an antifreezing agent, a preservative and fungicidal agent, a stabilizer of the herbicidal active ingredient, etc.

PURPOSE:The titled composition having improved long-term shelf stability, obtained by adding a specific hydrocarbon to an agricultural chemical composition comprising an agricultural chemical substance having a melting point of >=a specific temperature and a specific solubility in the hydrocarbon as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A agricultural chemical having >=0 deg.C melting point and >=10wt% solubility in a hydrocarbon (e.g., 2-sec-butylphenyl N-methylcarbamate) shown by the formula (X1, X2, Y1, Y2, Z1 and Z2 are H or <=2C alkyl; R1 and R2 are H or CH3; n is 0 or 1) at 0 deg.C is dissolved in the hydrocarbon shown by the formula, dispersed into water by the use of a dispersant and a thickening agent is used to give the aimed composition having raised suspension stability. This composition has neither crystal growth nor crystal precipitation at all. The amount of the hydrocarbon shown by the formula added is 0.1-10pts.wt. based on 1pt.wt. agricultural chemical substance.

PURPOSE:The titled stable composition prepared by suspending a hydrophobic liquid insecticidal and acaricidal compound, e.g. alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzylchrysanthemate, in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabi, and adding a thickening agent to the suspension. CONSTITUTION:An oil-in-water type suspension insecticidal and acaricidal composition comprising (A) 1-50 wt% one or more types of hydrophobic liquid insecticidal and acaricidal compounds, e.g. carboxylic esters of formula I [(R1 is H, F, Cl or Br; R2 is methyl or formula II (R4 is methyl, Cl or Br); R3 is H or methyl; A is H or cyano], (B) 2-10wt% polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabi as a suspending assistant, and a suitable amount of a thickening agent and (C) the rest of water. The compound of formula I is suspended in an aqueous solution of the suspending assistant, and the thickening agent is added to the suspension to stabilize the composition. EFFECT:Simple procedures, improved effects, safety, easy handling and a low cost.

Oillinnwater type suspension insecticidal and acaricidal composition

PURPOSE:To prepare the title composition having high stability and effectivity, without using an organic solvent, by dispersing ''Metacrephos'' (a herbicide) in water using a specific water-soluble polymer as a dispersing agent. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of (A) 1-50wt% of O-ethyl-O-(3- methyl-6-nitrophenyl)-N-sec-butylphosphorothioamidate ( Metacrephos ) which is a hydrophobic liquid herbicide, (B) 2-10wt% of polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabic. as a dispersing agent, (C) a thickener, and (D) the remaining part of water. The dispersion stability of the composition can be improved by the use of the dispersing agent. Since the composition does not contain any organic solvent or synthetic surface active agent, there is no troubles such as flammability, ill-odor, toxicity, etc. in the application of the composition.

PURPOSE:A stabilized insecticidal composition that is prepared by converting 0,0- diemthyl 0-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl) phosphorothioate into a suspension of oil-in- water type. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed of 1-50pts. of a liquid mixture of 0,0-dimethyl 0-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl) phosphorothioate and 2-sec- butylphenyl N-methyl carbamate as active ingredients, 1-10pts. of polyvinyl alcohol of less than 90% saponification degree, as a suspension aid, 0.1-10pts. of a thickener such as xanthane gum or tragacanth gum and water, thus being an oil-in-water type suspension. EFFECT:The composition is good in stability as a preparation and shows satisfactory insecticidal effect.

PURPOSE:The titled stable composition, having improved effectiveness, and comprising a specific amount of a hydrophobic liquid insecticidal and acaricidal compound, a specific amount of polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabic as a suspending assistant therefor, a suitable amount of a thickening agent and the rest of water. CONSTITUTION:A stable, safe, easily handleable and inexpensive composition having improved effectiveness, and comprising 1-50wt% alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl 2-(4-chlorophenyl)isovalerate rich in alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (+)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)isovalerate and an antipode mixture thereof as a hydrophobic liquid insecticidal and acaricidal component, 2-10wt% polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabi as a suspending assistant, suitable amount of a thickening agent and the rest of water.
