Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of enzymic oxidation of indole-3-acetic acid by phenols: Structure-activity relationships

TL;DR: The number of hydroxyl groups and their position relative to each other and the nature and position of other substituents on the aromatic ring were found to affect the activity of mono- and diphenols.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of orchinol and related phenanthrenes on the enzymic degradation of indole-3-acetic acid

TL;DR: Orchinol, hircinol, loroglossol and certain related phenanthrenes inhibited horseradish peroxidase-catalysed IAA degradation to a varied degree.
Patent

Phenolic safeners for glyphosate herbicides

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been found that the desired crop plants can be protected from the herbicidal effect by providing a pretreatment so that the crop plants have assimilated a phenolic compound found to give a safening effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of 3,4-dihydroxyacetophenone and some related phenols on the peroxidase-catalysed oxidation of indole-3-acetic acid

TL;DR: 3,4-Dihydroxyacetophenone, 3, 4-dihydroxpropiophenone and acetovanillone differed in activity in the enzymic oxidative reaction of indole-3-acetic acid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of enzymic oxidation of indole-3-acetic acid by metabolites of the insecticide carbofuran

TL;DR: With both types of inhibitors the inhibition is reversible by higher substrate concentrations, but the Lineweaver-Burk plot is curvilinear suggesting the complex nature of competitive inhibition.
