An unexpected feature of the stress–strain diagram of dual-phase steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of the thermomechanical history on the mechanical properties of a low-alloyed ferritic-martensitic dual-phase steels was analyzed by means of a fully three-dimensional finite element analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

A note on the diffusion of carbon atoms to dislocations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the interaction energy between a carbon atom and a dislocation to calculate the diffusion process of carbon atoms to both edge and screw dislocations and found that the dislocations become locked within the first days after production of low carbon low alloyed steel, which is validated by experiments on dual-phase steels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation of martensitic transformations in TRIP-steel and Fe-based shape memory alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the evolution of martensite both in a TRIP-steel and in an Fe-based shape memory alloys is investigated by means of a finite element analysis, and the model is able to explain the experimentally observed dependence of the austenite start temperature in an F-based SMA on the extent of prior martensitic transformation.
