Digital modeling of world's first known length reference unit: The Nippur cubit rod

TL;DR: In this paper, the Nippur cubit, the first known standard measure of length, was a heavy copper bar, unearthed at NippUR on the Euphrates River dating from about 2650 B.C. This ancient measuring device is nowadays exposed in the Archeological Museum of Istanbul, Turkey.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determining Roughness Angle of Limestone Using Optical Laser Scanner

TL;DR: M Mathematical analyses of 17 profiles showed that roughness profiles can be expressed by 21st – 30th degree polynomial equations with approximately 10-4 degree standard deviation.

Iconography : Digital modeling of world’s first known length reference unit: The Nippur cubit rod

Zaide Duran, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the studies of precise measurement, 3D modeling and documentation of Nippur Cubit is presented and results obtained from these two techniques were compared.

Obtaining façade plan of a historical building with orthorectification of single images gathered by mobile phone and digital camera

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the capability of using these images for various purposes and the capacity and usability of the software's regarding manpower, obtained results and transfer to other visualization tools.
Journal ArticleDOI

Total Least Squares Registration of 3D Surfaces

TL;DR: A method where the stochastic properties of both the observations and the parameters are considered under an errors-in-variables (EIV) model is proposed and the results of EIV with the ICP and the conventional LS matching methods have been compared.
