An improved exhaust gas control apparatus, which utilizes a 3-way catalyst for reducing the contents of harmful components in exhaust gas, incorporates a diaphragm type air pump for supplying secondary air, upstream of the catalyst, to the exhaust gas. A chamber, which is formed on one side of the diaphragm in the air pump, is communicated through an electromagnetic changeover valve with the upstream side of the catalyst.

A secondary air supply system of a vehicle, including an engine unit (7) having a crank chamber (8) and being operatively connected to an air cleaner (11) and an exhaust system including an exhaust pipe (14), comprises a diaphragm pump device (1) provided with an inner chamber (4a,4b,4c) and having an air inlet port (9) and an air outlet port (12) both being communicated with the inner chamber, a diaphragm (2) disposed in the inner chamber to divide it into a diaphragm chamber (3) and a pump chamber (4a,4b,4c), a first hose (10) connecting the air inlet port (9) and the air cleaner (11) to introduce a secondary air from the air cleaner (11) into the pump chamber (4a), a second hose (13) connecting the air outlet port (12) and the exhaust pipe (14) to supply the secondary air into the exhaust pipe (14) through the outlet port (12), and a third hose (6) connecting the diaphragm chamber (3) of the diaphragm pump device (1) and the crank chamber (8) of the engine unit (7). The secondary air is supplied into the exhaust pipe (14) through the diaphragm pump (1) by an amount in proportion to a magnitude of an oscillation of the diaphragm (2) caused in accordance with a pressure variation in the crank chamber (8) caused in proportion to an engine revolution speed. A valve assembly (5a,5b) is further disposed in the pump chamber (4a,4b,4c) for allowing the secondary air introduced into the pump chamber (4a,4b,4c) to flow uni-directionaly from the inlet port (9) to the outlet port (12).

Secondary air supply system for engine unit

PURPOSE:To prevent the troubles such as jammed status of parts and improve the efficiency by aligning the parts fed into a tiltable box-shaped hopper having an alignment groove in the bottom part through tilting the hopper and adsorbing the parts by a vacuum adsorbing head and supplying the parts into other processes. CONSTITUTION:A lever 6 swings in the direction of arrows D and E through the revolution of a cam 4, and a box-shaped hopper 1 is tilted alternately to the positions B and C, with respect to the Position A serving as a center, through a rotary lever 10. Therefore, the parts fed into the hopper 1 are slided in the groove 13 formed on the bottom of the hopper 1, and then aligned and stopped by a hopper 14, and the excessive ones fall down to the positions F and G. The excessive parts are perfectly removed through attraction 16 and air blow 17. After alignment is completed, the parts are adsorbed by a vacuum adsorbing head 15 and supplied into other pocesses. These operations are repeated between the positins B and C. Thus, the troubles such as jummed status of parts can be prevented, and the operational efficiency can be improved.

CONSTITUTION:A switch 24 is closed to operate a timer 23 which intermittently opens and closes a solenoid valve 19. Accordingly, pressurized air in a pressure air tank 21 is intermittently fed forcibly to an ejector pipe 8 via a pressure regulating valve 20, solenoid valve 19 and check valve 18. Here forcibly fed air pressure P2 is adjusted by the valve 20 so as to be higher than pressure P1 in a tank 1. In this way, a granule material in the tank 1 is discharged into a discharge pipe 9 by forming a sandwich state such as granule material - air - granule material - air on the basis of intermittently circulating movement due to the pulse signal. In this way, energy is saved, damage of the granule material is prevented and the material with the size more than 5mm. can be discharged.
