A comprehensive review on biodegradable polylactic acid polymer matrix composite material reinforced with synthetic and natural fibers

In this work, effect of tool speed and direction of tool rotation of friction stir welding (FSW) process on the cast MMC is analyzed. Aluminum 6061 alloy reinforced with 20% silicon carbide particles added with 2% molybdenum disulphate is prepared by die casting process. Macro and micro-structural analysis is performed to study the size and shape of the constituents, to discover the defects associated with stir welding and quality of weld. Micro-hardness observations are carried out on the parent metal, FSW zone and heat affected zone. It is observed that FSW with high speeds develops higher hardness and most of the higher hardness value occurs in in the order of FSW welding zone, center zone and heat affected zone, and also hardness value of clockwise tool rotation is greater than anti-clockwise tool rotation.

Evaluation of mechanical properties of tea dust filler reinforced polymer composite

Metal mesh fiber reinforced composites are used in various application in the present day to meet growth and stringent demands in the aircraft, automobile, sports goods and consumer products. By hybridizing metal mesh and fiber glass reinforcement in a polymer matrix superior mechanical property can be achieved through design of stacking sequence and application of precise fabrication parameters. The main idea behind the composites is the synergic effect produced by the reinforcement fibers with matrix resin. Drilling was performed using uncoated high speed steel twisted drill bit on the laminates. The optimum process parameter to avoid delamination was calculated by Taguchi method; 10 mm diameter of drill bit with a tool speed of 500 rpm and 0.05 mm tool feed provides the lowest delamination of the stacked epoxy laminate composite. With 51.3% influence, delamination factor is mainly dependent on the diameter of drill bit, followed by speed of tool bit and feed rate of tool with higher combined influence of diameter and speed. These types of laminates may be replaced as car bumper material to withstand impact load with improved strength and stiffness.

Optimization of drilling process parameters on epoxy matrix hybrid composite laminate reinforced with glass fibre/stainless steel wire mesh

The aim of present experimental investigation is to compare the mechanical properties of Sisal, jute and kenaf fiber reinforced with glass fiber in polyester matrix hybrid composites. Hybrid composites were fabricated by hand lay-up technique. The tensile, flexural and impact tests were carried out on different composite samples as per the ASTM standards. It was observed that the tensile strength of jute/glass fiber composite is 1.94 and 1.59 times more than that of sisal/glass and kenaf/glass composites, respectively. The flexural load carrying capacity of sisal/glass composite is 3.4 and 2.83 times greater than those of jute/glass and kenaf/glass composites, respectively. Also, it can be seen that impact strength of jute/glass composite is almost equal to that of kenaf/glass composite and 1.13 times more than that of sisal/glass composite.

Etched Triangle Resonator Dual Band Microstrip Band Pass Filter

The improvement of a conservative microstrip band-pass channel at L-band with lower inclusion adversity and higher skirt dismissal with pass transmission capacity of 100MHz is described in this study. It has been decided to use a cross-coupled channel configuration, which decreases the demand and size in comparison witha regular microstrip channel. Using CST simulation software, the channel has been planned and duplicated. Similar has been developed with an estimated execution time. Over120MHz transmission capacity (5.85%), inclusion deficit of 1.2 dB at 2.05 GHz (focus recurrence), and skirt dismissal of 35 dB at 125 MHz.
