Origin of broadband near-infrared luminescence in bismuth-doped glasses

TL;DR: Interstitial negative-charged bismuth dimers, Bi(-)(2) and Bi(2-)(2), are suggested as a model of broadband IR luminescence centers in bismUTH-doped glasses and are supported by IR Luminescence observed for the first time, to the authors' knowledge, in bismsuth- doped polycrystalline magnesium cordierite.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the structure of phosphosilicate glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the Raman band at 1320 cm−1 characteristic for such glasses is not simple and may be decomposed into two components with frequencies at ≈ 1317 and ≈1330 cm− 1 caused in their opinion by single phosphorus centers (OPO3 tetrahedra surrounded by SiO4 ones) and by double phosphorus centers.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the structure of tungstate–tellurite glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the structural and vibrational properties of tungstate-tellurite glasses of several compositions are analyzed by application of the model and a novel interpretation of the Raman spectra is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Raman band intensities of tellurite glasses

TL;DR: It is shown that these glasses can be considered as one of the most promising materials for Raman fiber amplifiers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydroxyl groups in high-purity silica glass

TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach to the description of the incorporation of hydroxyl groups in the glass network was proposed based on the experimental data and quantum-chemical calculations, and a new decomposition of the fundamental OH-stretching band is proposed.
