Determination of mercury in blood.

Mercury is present in nature, as in the laboratory, in three different oxidation states. Thus mercury is commonly found as the chloride salt, calomel, it is found as the ore cinnabar, and elemental mercury is encountered, usually in the vapor state, wherever certain mercury compounds are subject to high temperatures. Es wird uber eine neue Methode der masanalytischen Bestimmung des Phosphat-Ions berichtet. Dieses wird wie ublich als Magnesium-ammoniumphosphat-Hexahydrat abgeschieden und das im Niederschlag enthaltene Magnesium mit einer Maslosung von Athylendiamintetraessigsaure titriert. Die Abscheidung kann auch neben sonst storenden Kationen durchgefuhrt werden, wenn diese durch Uberfuhrung in den Athylendiamintetraessigsaure-Komplex gegen Phosphat maskiert werden. Als besonders wesentlich ist die hierdurch mogliche Ausschaltung einer Storung durch Calcium anzusehen. Die Kombination mit anderen Maskierungsmitteln, wie z. B. Citronensaure, ist moglich. Die Abscheidung des Phosphats wurde durchgefuhrt neben Calcium, Magnesium, Barium, Strontium, Eisen, Aluminium, Chrom, Titan, Mangan, Beryllium, Kobalt, Nickel, Kupfer, Zink, Cadmium, Blei. Uber die erhaltenen Ergebnisse informieren zahlreiche Beleganalysen.
