Analytical advances in the determination of calcium in bovine milk, dairy products and milk-based infant formulas

TL;DR: A wide array of techniques is available for calcium measurement and official international bodies have standardized several procedures, with flame atomic absorption spectrometry well established together with inductively coupled plasma techniques, the latter being advantaged in terms of sensitiveness and multi-analyte capability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transmission routes, preventive measures and control strategies of SARS-CoV-2 in the food factory.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed that interventions that promote healthy air quality should be adopted, especially in food areas with high-occupancy rates for prolonged times, to help minimize the potential exposure to airborne SARS-CoV-2.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro antioxidant properties of digests of hydrolyzed casein and caseinophosphopeptide preparations in cell models of human intestine and osteoblasts

TL;DR: In this paper, three commercial samples consisting of enriched calcium-free caseinophosphopeptides (CPP), enriched Ca-CPP, and an enzymatically hydrolyzed casein (hCN) were in vitro digested according to COST-Infogest protocol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of protein fortification on heat damage and occurrence of β-casomorphins in (un)digested donor human milk intended for nutrition of preterm infants.

TL;DR: In this paper, thermal protein modifications of three commercial fortifiers were assessed by measuring well-recognized indexes of heat load, and the results better address the nutritional features of protein fortifiers and fortified PDHM intended for nutrition of preterm infants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bovine milk fortifiers and fortified pasteurized donor human milk for premature infant nutrition. Peptidomic overview

TL;DR: This work represents one of the few peptidomic investigations on fortifiers and fortified PDHM after a simulated preterm infant digestion and identified 515 unique peptides, mostly from human β-casein; 15 were homologous to potential BPs of human and bovine milk protein origin.
