Reaching a Consensus on Random Networks: The Power of Few
Linh Tran,Van Vu +1 more
TL;DR: This study reveals that for any constants $p$ and $\varepsilon$, there is a constant $C$ such that if one camp has $n/2 +C$ individuals, then it wins with probability at least $1 - \varpsilon$.

Random matrices: Sharp concentration of eigenvalues
Terence Tao,Van Vu +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that for a Wigner matrix whose entries have vanishing third moment, normalized so that the spectrum is concentrated in the interval $[-2,2], the number of eigenvalues in an interval of width O(log n/n) is optimal up to the constant exponent in the logarithmic term.

Extremal Systems with Upper-Bounded Odd Intersections
TL;DR: This paper determines the maximum cardinality m of a family A= {A1,..., Am} of subsets of a set of n elements with the property that for each Ai there are at most s Aj such that |Ai ∩ Aj| is odd (even).
Journal ArticleDOI
Central limit theorems for the real zeros of Weyl polynomials
TL;DR: The central limit theorem for the number of real roots of the Weyl polynomial was established in this article, where the main ingredients were new estimates for the correlation functions of the real roots and a comparison argument exploiting local laws and repulsion properties of these real roots.
