Journal ArticleDOI
Podocyturia is significantly elevated in untreated vs treated Fabry adult patients.
Hernán Trimarchi,Romina Canzonieri,Amalia Schiel,Juan Politei,Aníbal Stern,José Andrews,Matías Paulero,Tatiana Rengel,Alicia Aráoz,Mariano Forrester,Fernando Lombi,Vanesa Pomeranz,Romina Iriarte,Pablo Young,Alexis Muryan,Elsa Zotta +15 more
TL;DR: Patients with Fabry disease display heavy podocyturia; those untreated present significantly higher podocyTuria, lower proteinuria and better renal function than those who are treated, suggesting that therapy may be started at advanced stages.
Journal Article
H1N1 infection and the kidney in critically ill patients
Hernán Trimarchi,Gustavo Greloni,Vicente Campolo-Girard,Sergio Giannasi,Vanesa Pomeranz,Esteban San-Roman,Fernando Lombi,Laura Barcan,Mariano Forrester,Salomón Algranati,Romina Iriarte,Guillermo Rosa-Diez +11 more
TL;DR: AKI was associated with pregnancy, immunosuppression, high APAC HE, SOFA and MURRA Y scores, and less time on mechanical ventilation assistance, hemodynamical instability and thrombocytopenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Creatinine- vs. cystatin C-based equations compared with 99mTcDTPA scintigraphy to assess glomerular filtration rate in chronic kidney disease.
Hernán Trimarchi,Alexis Muryan,Diana Martino,Agostina Toscano,Romina Iriarte,Vicente Campolo-Girard,Mariano Forrester,Vanesa Pomeranz,Clara Fitzsimons,Fernando Lombi,Pablo Young,María S. Raña,Mirta Alonso +12 more
TL;DR: In controls and at early stages of CKD, creatinine-based equations correlated better with (99m)Tc-DTPA, with CKD-EPI being the one with the best degree of agreement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copious Podocyturia without Proteinuria and with Normal Renal Function in a Young Adult with Fabry Disease
Hernán Trimarchi,Romina Canzonieri,Alexis Muryan,Amalia Schiel,Alicia Aráoz,Mariano Forrester,A. Karl,Fernando Lombi,José Andrews,Vanesa Pomeranz,Tatiana Rengel,Elsa Zotta +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that podocyturia antedates the classical appearance of proteinuria and could be considered as an even earlier biomarker of kidney damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased urinary CD80 excretion and podocyturia in Fabry disease.
Hernán Trimarchi,Romina Canzonieri,Amalia Schiel,Cristian Costales-Collaguazo,Juan Politei,Aníbal Stern,Matías Paulero,Tatiana Rengel,José Andrews,Mariano Forrester,M. Lombi,Vanesa Pomeranz,Romina Iriarte,Alexis Muryan,Elsa Zotta,M. D. Sanchez-Nino,Alberto Ortiz +16 more
TL;DR: Fabry disease is characterized by early occurrence of increased uCD80 excretion that appears to be a consequence of glycolipid accumulation, and the potential for uCD 80 excretion to reflect early, subclinical renal Fabry involvement should be further studied.
