Pleiotropic effects of statins may improve outcomes in atherosclerotic renovascular disease
Vanessa dos Santos Silva,Luis Cuadrado Martin,Roberto Jorge da Silva Franco,Fábio Cardoso de Carvalho,Edson Antonio Bregagnollo,João Humberto Teotônio de Castro,Irene Gavras,Haralambos Gavras +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared overall survival and renal survival (i.e., time to doubling of serum creatinine or end-stage renal disease) over an 11-year period in 104 ARD patients of whom 68 received statin therapy (group S), because of elevated lipid levels and 36 had no statin (group NS) because of normal lipid profile at entry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Gamma-Oryzanol as Therapeutic Agent to Prevent Cardiorenal Metabolic Syndrome in Animals Submitted to High Sugar-Fat Diet.

Gamma Oryzanol Treats Obesity-Induced Kidney Injuries by Modulating the Adiponectin Receptor 2/PPAR-α Axis.
Fabiane Valentini Francisqueti,Artur Junio Togneri Ferron,Fabiana Kurokawa Hasimoto,Pedro Henrique Rizzi Alves,Jéssica Leite Garcia,Klinsmann Carolo dos Santos,Fernando Moreto,Vanessa dos Santos Silva,Ana Lúcia dos Anjos Ferreira,Igor Otavio Minatel,Camila Renata Corrêa +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of Gamma oryzanol (γOz) on renal function in obese animals by high sugar-fat diet by modulation of adiponectin receptor 2/PPAR-α axis was evaluated.
