Analysis of ferroelectric switching in finite media as a Landau-type phase transition

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed analysis of polarization reversal in ferroelectrics has been performed, in the framework of the Landau model for phase transitions, in order to integrate the size effects and inhomogeneity contribution to switching of the global order parameter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physico-chemical properties of Chitosan films

TL;DR: In this paper, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform IR analysis were performed on chitosan films obtained by dry phase inversion and showed that they are amorphous.
Journal ArticleDOI

Progress in the synthesis and characterization of magnetite nanoparticles with amino groups on the surface

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of new hydrophilic magnetite particles by employing a two-step method is discussed. But the authors focus on the second step, where the hydrophobic shell is interchanged with an aminosilane monomer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of polyurethane membranes: Morphology and structure studies

TL;DR: In this article, a mixture of thermoplastic elastomers precursors based on urethane: poly(esterurethane) (PU) and polyurethanes with lactate segment poly(lactaturethane), were synthesized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrospun PVC/Fe3O4 composite nanofibers for microwave absorption applications

TL;DR: In this article, the microwave frequency properties of PVC/Fe3O4 composite nanofibers, with different amounts of iron oxide nanoparticles incorporated in PVC matrix, were investigated. And the results showed that these materials can be used as protection material of electromagnetic radiation.
