Journal ArticleDOI

Urbanization, energy consumption and emissions in the Indian context A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the temporal, dynamic and causal relationships between urbanization, energy consumption and emissions and proposed a series of measures and a set of strategies that include energy intensity and emission intensity reduction measures through continuous monitoring, information feedback systems, introduction of industrial energy quota management, incentives for energy efficient facilities, shutting down of inefficient facilities and setting up of smart residential buildings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solid waste collection/transport optimization and vegetation land cover estimation using Geographic Information System (GIS): A case study of a proposed smart-city

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed possible transfer station locations based on various design factors like open land availability, ease of access from all the composting units/dustbin locations, transfer means by tractor trailers, and sanitation and environmental requirements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of atmospheric corrections on hyperspectral data with special reference to mineral mapping

TL;DR: In this paper, two very advance atmospheric approaches, namely QUAC and FLAASH, have been applied on the hyperspectral remote sensing imagery, and the spectra of vegetation, man-made structure and different minerals from the Gadag area of Karnataka, were extracted from the raw image and also from the QUAC/FLAASH corrected images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Virtual 3d city modeling: techniques and applications

TL;DR: This paper gives an overview about the Techniques related with "Generation of Virtual 3-D City models using Geomatics Techniques" and the Applications of Virtual 2-D and 3D city models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative study of GCMs, RCMs, downscaling and hydrological models: a review toward future climate change impact estimation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the challenges in modeling because of different parameter or variable or model conceptualization uncertainties using different scenarios, downscaling methods and climatic variables and discuss challenges in climate change impact analysis in the present research and knowledge gaps.
