According to CNN-Health and as of June 2021, authorities have claimed over 174.4 million coronavirus cases and 3.8 million deaths since China reported the first case in December 2019. The objective of the project “MedBuddy” is to reduce the number of coronavirus cases among the medical staff and doctors when they must tend to the patients and administering the medications who are isolated in the general ward. This objective is achieved by designing and developing a Bluetooth controlled robot car built using the Arduino Uno microcontroller and equipped with a spare smartphone whose camera will be used to provide live feed to the application developed using MIT App Inventor. The robot is equipped with tray that allows the medicines to be delivered with an ease to the patients from a safe distance. This will result in making the timely delivery of medicines for the patients and will also reduce the unnecessary contact with the patients, minimizing the risk for medical personnel.

DESIGN OF A VIRTUAL LABORATORY FOR AUTOMATION CONTROL Zelin Zhu Old Dominion University, 2017 Director: Yuzhong Shen In the past, only students who studied on campus were able to access laboratory equipment in traditional lab courses; distance learning students, enrolled in online courses, were at a disadvantage for they could learn basic lab experiment principles but could never experience hands-on learning. Modeling and simulation can be a powerful tool for generating virtual laboratories for distance learning students. This thesis describes the design and development of a virtual laboratory for automation control using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components for an automation and control course at Old Dominion University. This virtual laboratory application was implemented for two platforms — Windows personal computers and Android smartphones. The virtual lab serves as pre-lab session for on-campus students and a virtual lab tool for distancelearning students to gain some “hands-on” lab experience. Utilizing the virtual learning environment as a supplement to engineering-based laboratories is also beneficial for students to prepare for the physical experiment and obtain a “hands-on,” practical lab experience without the hazards present in the physical lab. Such a methodology can also be applied to experiments in different fields such chemistry, etc.

Design of a Virtual Laboratory for Automation Control

According to the COVID-19 Weekly Epidemiological Update released by WHO on 4th May 2021, India accounted for 46% of the new global Covid-19 cases, with over 29.4 million Indians contracted with the deadly virus in totality. Additionally, India accounted for 26% of global death in that week, with over 0.37 million citizens having succumbed to Covid-19 since the pandemic has begun. Furthermore, a data suggested that around 20% of people who contract coronavirus show no symptoms and being around them could be a great risk. Ignorance towards the government guidelines about social gathering has resulted in a huge spike of cases. Thus, taking all of this into consideration the objective of the project “Automated Door System Using Arduino for Crowd Management” is to reduce or to an extent totally eliminate the manual work that goes into opening and closing doors using a PIR sensor to detect people and an Arduino Uno as the microcontroller. Furthermore, we intend to only allow a certain number of restricted people in the room, in accordance with the government's social distancing guidelines, in order to help stop or reduce the spread of the deadly virus.

Blockchain appears to be the way of the future in today&#x2019;s technological age. Blockchain technology has recently proven itself worthy of praise by facilitating cryptocurrency financial transactions. Despite being widely researched, there have recently been growing worries about the privacy and security of patient data because of the use of a centralized system to handle patient data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants the subject the right to know where and how his or her personal data is stored, as well as who is privy to it and to what extent. Blockchain has been shown in numerous studies to be capable of supporting the safe and secure recording of patient data in the health-care system. This paper summarizes recent research into how blockchain technology can be successfully implemented in the healthcare field. In our assessment of such publications, we discovered that the majority of blockchain applications are limited when only briefly examined. The products are only used by a small number of people. Perhaps this is due to the fact that healthcare blockchain applications have more demanding authentication, interoperability, and record sharing requirements. However, the quality of the products is constantly improving. 

Application of Blockchain in Healthcare

Simulation is an essential interactive computer tool that can be applied to monitor systems graphically. A simulation of motion is presented in this study to support the control of Segway Robot Transportation Platform (SRTP). The introduced system provides simulation of the SRTP using MATLAB. The nonlinear dynamic equations of the motion for the Segway system are determined using the Lagrange approach. The derived nonlinear equations are then arranged in state space model format. The SRTP is simulated using the derived state space model using MATLAB. The introduced modeling and simulation processes have shown their ability to produce and plot the motion of the Segway parts with monitoring the effect of the Segway physical parameters such as mass of cart. 

Dynamics Modeling and Motion Simulation of a Segway Robotic Transportation System

In recent times, there has been a significant rise in usage of aircrafts in surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Not all the aircrafts survive the harsh testing conditions put forth by the enemy regions. Aircraft Survivability Analysis gives the measure of the chances of survival for different counter strategies. The mission would be recalculated if particular sortie does not fall within the physical boundary of the performance of an aircraft. This is required both for the success of the mission and the survivability of the aircraft in the harsh enemy conditions. A system is envisioned comprising of the accurate modeling of the physical world and the accurate model of control system. An interoperable system which can work seamlessly together will provide mission planners, System integrators, aeronautical/ aerospace engineers a milieu wherein the Control System designer who is found wanted as far as the physical world is concerned is given a system which can simulate the real world in lab conditions. To achieve this, we combine the two most promising environments prevalent in the industry today namely Systems tool kit for modeling the operational environment MATLAB and LabVIEW for modeling the control system environment. Using a Math script window of LabVIEW, we have designed the aircraft model and controlling the variables of an aircraft using a simulation loop of a LabVIEW. The different flight conditions were arrived using Orthogonal Array (OA) based on different Aircraft weight, Altitude, Mach number configurations. This attempts to span the aircrafts across the regimes in aircrafts flight envelope. A system comprising of both, with seamless UDP based connection between the two is developed to expedite the process of development of feasible control system design and verification which allows the aircrafts to undertake complex mission. This system we believe would answer questions of limits of the aircrafts maneuverability and survivability in terms of its limitation concerning control system design and development of commercial fighter aircrafts, UAV's and Quad copters.

Concept of Operations to System Design and Development-An integrated system for Aircraft Mission Feasibility Analysis using STK Engine MATLAB and LabVIEW

Purpose: Store positioning via technology and retail image are the factors that influence store loyalty and the success of the retail. The objective of this study is to assess the relation between positioning via in-store technology, store image and store loyalty in Indian retail fashion outlets. Furthermore the mediation affect of store image on the in-store technology and store loyalty relationship is analyzed. Design/Methodology/Approach: On a sample of 284 customers, structural equation modelling via Amos has been employed to test the proposed hypotheses. Convenience sampling has been used for data collection. Findings: The results reveal that the in-store technology positively influences store image which further positively impacts customer loyalty towards the store. Finally store image partially mediates the relationship between in-store technology and store image. Originality: The study has empirically tested the relation and provided evidence that in store technology is an important dimension, which shoppers consider to position stores in their minds.
