Journal ArticleDOI
Inoculation of Medicago sativa cover crop with Rhizophagus irregularis and Trichoderma harzianum increases the yield of subsequently-grown potato under low nutrient conditions
TL;DR: The most advantageous strategy to increase potato tuber weight was by inoculating the cover crop, and root colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and abundance of Trichoderma harzianum in soil were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Rhizophagus irregularis MUCL 41833 on disease symptoms caused by Phytophthora infestans in potato grown under field conditions
TL;DR: Disease severity of P. infestans was decreased in AMF pre-colonized plants under conditions of low pressure of late blight and over a short period of time, while under conditions more adequate to the pathogen, no reduction in symptoms was noticed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tracing native and inoculated Rhizophagus irregularis in three potato cultivars (Charlotte, Nicola and Bintje) grown under field conditions
Catherine Buysens,Pierre-Louis Alaux,Vincent César,Stéphanie Huret,Stéphane Declerck,Sylvie Cranenbrouck +5 more
TL;DR: The mtLSU markers were validated to detect/trace and quantify AMF inoculants as native strains in plants grown under field conditions and further supported that potato cultivars in the same field conditions differed in root colonization.
