Journal ArticleDOI
Transcoronary concentration gradients of circulating microRNAs in heart failure.
Salvatore De Rosa,Francesca Eposito,C. Carella,Antonio Strangio,Giuseppe Ammirati,Jolanda Sabatino,Fabio Giovanni Abbate,Claudio Iaconetti,Vincenzo Liguori,Valerio Pergola,Alberto Polimeni,Silvio Coletta,Clarice Gareri,Bruno Trimarco,Giuseppe Stabile,Antonio Curcio,Ciro Indolfi,Antonio Rapacciuolo +17 more
TL;DR: The concentration gradients across the coronary circulation were measured to assess their usefulness to diagnose HF of different aetiologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Double-Blind Comparison of Nicorandil and Metoprolol in Stable Effort Angina Pectoris
Salvatore Di Somma,Vincenzo Liguori,M. Petitto,Andrea Carotenuto,Daniela Bokor,Oreste de Divitiis,Marcello de Divitiis +6 more
TL;DR: Nicorandil, 10 and 20 mg bid, exerted an antiischemic effect comparable with that of metoprolol in patients with stable effort angina pectoris in a randomized, double-blind parallel group study lasting 7 weeks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of short-term reduction in serum cholesterol with simvastatin in patients with stable angina pectoris and mild to moderate hypercholesterolemia
Marcello de Divitiis,Paolo Rubba,Salvatore Di Somma,Vincenzo Liguori,Maurizio Galderisi,Silvana Montefusco,Giovanni Carreras,Vincenzo Greco,Andrea Carotenuto,Gabriella Iannuzzo,Oreste de Divitiis +10 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that cholesterol-lowering treatment is associated with an improvement in myocardial effort ischemia; this might be explained by a more pronounced increase of coronary blood flow and capacity of vasodilation in response to effort.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bisoprolol in the treatment of angina pectoris: a double blind comparison with verapamil.
O. De Diviths,Vincenzo Liguori,S. Di Somma,Marcello Brignoli,S. Ferraro,M. Petitto,Serafino Fazio,G. Marsullo,Marco Salvatore,R. Gradnik +9 more
TL;DR: A double blind parallel groups trial was carried out in comparison with verapamil and bisoprolol showed a satisfactory anti-ischaemic effect, with good tolerability, suggesting that beta-blockers act essentially through the reduction of myocardial oxygen consumption and verap amil possibly with an additive effect on coronary circulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of the patient with left ventricular hypertrophy
O. de Divitiis,Aldo Celentano,G. De Simone,S. Di Somma,Maurizio Galderisi,Vincenzo Liguori,M. de Divitiis,M. Petitto +7 more
TL;DR: The strategy of antihypertensive treatment has to be reconsidered on the basis of the presence of LVH and could lead to decreased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality of patients with LVH.
