Journal ArticleDOI
Physical–mechanical and microstructural properties of alkali-activated fly ash–blast furnace slag blends
TL;DR: In this paper, the physical and micro-structural properties of alkali-activated binders based on blends of fly ash (FA) and blast furnace slag (BFS) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
External sulfate attack on alkali-activated slag
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of external sulfate attack (5% Na2SO4 solution) on mechanical and microstructural properties of alkali-activated slag (AAS) were analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improving reactivity of fly ash and properties of ensuing geopolymers through mechanical activation
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of fly ash activation in thermal power plants on physical-mechanical properties and structure of geopolymers were investigated, and it was observed that FA activation for 15min resulted in drastic increase of the geopolymer compressive strength (in all cases > 1000%).
Journal ArticleDOI
Lead immobilization by geopolymers based on mechanically activated fly ash
TL;DR: In this article, the effectiveness of geopolymers based on initial and mechanically activated fly ash in the immobilization of lead was investigated by means of the mechanical and leaching properties of geo-mers.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of fly ash characteristics and reaction conditions on strength and structure of geopolymers
Violeta Nikolić,Miroslav Komljenović,Zvezdana Baščarević,Nataša Marjanović,Zoran P. Miladinović,Rada Petrović +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the results of SEM/EDS and NMR analyses revealed that the composition of aluminosilicate gel changed during reaction, i.e. Si/Al atomic ratio decreased with the reaction time.
