Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Gehause fur einen Ventilator (1) oder Lufter, insbesondere Axialventilator, umfassend eine ringformige Gehausewandung (2), die einen Stromungskanal (3) mit einer Einstromoffnung (4) und einer Ausstromoffnung (6) umschliest. Der Stromungskanal (3) weist einen in einer senkrechten Ebene zu einer mittleren Langsachse (X-X) kreisformigen Querschnitt auf, sowie eine Motorhalterung (7) fur einen Elektromotor (8) des Ventilators (1) innerhalb des Stromungskanals (3). Der Stromungskanal (3) besitzt einen sich an die Einstromoffnung (4) anschliesenden ersten Zylinderabschnitt (9) sowie einen sich mit seiner kleinen Kegelstumpfflache hieran anschliesenden, zur Ausstromoffnung (6) sich erweiternden zweiten Kegelstumpfabschnitt (11).
