Use of dummy variables in water resources studies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used dummy variables 1 and 0 as an alternative to analyze the variance and covariance to compare the relationship among groups of observations and showed that the dummy variable regression not only can perform a good result as performed by the standard technique, but simultaneously test the difference between two regression lines whether due to slope coefficients or intercept terms.

Application of ridge regression analysis to water resources studies

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of optimum ridge regression analysis (OPT) was compared with the ordinary least-squares method (OLS) for water storage computation for Lake Okeechobee, Florida was used as an example to demonstrate the techniques of applications.
