A study of stochastic fatigue crack growth modeling through experimental data

TL;DR: In this article, a rather universal stochastic fatigue crack growth model was employed to analyze the data and the solution of the stochastastic differential equation associated with the model gave us the crack exceedance probability as well as the probability of random time to reach a specified crack size.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probabilistic models of fatigue crack propagation and their experimental verification

TL;DR: In this paper, three stochastic fatigue crack growth models are presented, including the Markov chain model, Yang's power law model, and a polynomial model, to study the fatigue crack problems and to emphasize the variability of the growth curves in addition to their average growth trend.
Journal ArticleDOI

A modified model for the estimation of fatigue life derived from random vibration theory

TL;DR: In this article, the fundamental stress-life cycle relationship and an accumulation rule are given, and several formulas are derived to estimate the fatigue damage or fatigue life of a component when a component is subjected to variable-amplitude loading.
