Journal ArticleDOI
NMR—the chemical shift—IV: The anisotropies of the carbonyl group
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the magnetic anisotropy screening and the electric field screening effect of the CO group in a complete series of monoketo-androstanes, including the values of the anisotropies of the CO double bond and of K, a parameter descriptive of the electric screening effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
The chemical shift—I
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors modified the McDonnel equation to include those cases where the distance between the shielding group and the proton observed is small compared to the length of the induced dipole.
Journal ArticleDOI
The chemical shift—II: The anisotropies of the carboncarbon double bond
TL;DR: In this article, the shielding cone around the carbon-carbon double bond has been modified to include the shielding effects of the carbon carbon double bond and it has been shown that deshielding is confined to a restricted region at the ends of the double bond: outside this region a nucleus is shielded whether it lies in the "plane" or above it.
Journal ArticleDOI
The chemical shift—III: The NMR spectra of some diterpenes
TL;DR: In this article, the chemical shifts for the C-17, C-18 and C-20 methyl groups have been calculated and the methyl resonances assigned, and satisfactory agreement between calculated and observed shift values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical Shift. VI. The Long-range Shielding Effects of Ethylene–Ketal and −Thioketal Groups
TL;DR: In this article, the chemical shifts of C-18 and -19 methyl protons in monoketoandrostanes were derived for the solvents CDCl3, CCl4 and benzene.
