Journal ArticleDOI

Wavelength modulated absorption in SiC

TL;DR: In this paper, the spin-orbit splitting of the valence bands of the uniaxial and cubic polytypes of 6H, 15R and 3C SiC was measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of the optical properties of single crystal and liquid mercury in the energy range 0.5 to 8.25 eV

TL;DR: Normal incidence reflectance measurements were performed on single crystal Hg and liquid Hg in the energy range 0.5-8.25 eV as mentioned in this paper. But the reflectances of the solid and liquid are distinctly different below 2.0 eV but are of similar magnitude above.
Journal ArticleDOI

The electron-hole-liquid in 15R-SiC

TL;DR: In this article, an electron-hole liquid was observed in a semiconductor with rhombohedral structure, the multivalleyed, polar material 15R-SiC, from a study of excitation dependent and time delayed spectra.
