TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examine algebraic properties of controlled sequential machines and apply their main result on the relationship between morphisms of machines, state feedback and the reachability structure of the machines to decomposition of machines using feedback-induced congruences.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined several algebraic properties of controlled sequential machines using feedback-induced congruences and applied them to the problem of disturbance decoupling, and showed that feedback congruence can be used to join subsemilattices of the lattice of state set partitions.
Abstract: This paper examines several algebraic properties of controlled sequential machines. We concentrate on the decomposition of controlled sequential machines using feedback-induced congruences. Two special classes of feedback congruences are introduced and shown to form join subsemilattices of the lattice of state set partitions. The results are applied to the problem of disturbance decoupling.
