T Synoptic (taken from Ref. 1) is a state-of-the-art review of fluidics technology. It emphasizes systems applications rather than theory or design. It is directed towards the nonaerospace engineering manager who is unfamiliar with fluidic systems and their potential applicability. The Synoptic draws heavily upon R & D work performed or sponsored by NASA, and therefore serves as a compilation of NASA's fluidics efforts.

A fluidic thruster control system and method for guided missiles and the like, which utilizes a fluidic jet interaction device for controlling a downstream fluidic vortex amplifier to modulate exhaust flow through thrust nozzles.

A novel analysis is presented of swirling flows in choked nozzles. The one-dimensional compressible flow theory was extended to isentropic axisymmetric swirling flows. The most significant accomplishment of the present model is its ability to treat a general swirl type of any tangential velocity distribution. A choking criterion similar to that of one-dimensional nonswirling flows was introduced
