The invention discloses a character and pattern rolling mechanism which comprises a base, a first mounting plate, a second mounting plate and a third mounting plate, wherein the first mounting plate, the second mounting plate and the third mounting plate are vertically connected to the base, and the second mounting plate is parallel to the third mounting plate. The first mounting plate is connected with a pattern rolling disc in a rotating manner. A plurality of mounting pillars for being connected with pattern rolling dies are arranged at the position, close to the peripheral wall, of the pattern rolling disc. The second mounting plate is provided with a plurality of rotating shafts for being connected with products on which patterns are rolled. A drive device for driving rotating shafts to rotate is arranged between the second mounting plate and the third mounting plate. The character and pattern rolling mechanism has the beneficial effects that by means of the character and pattern rolling mechanism, characters and patterns can be printed on the surfaces of products on which the patterns are rolled automatically, fast and conveniently, and the pattern rolling dies can be replaced; and flexibility is high, and the problems that time and labor are consumed through manual operation, and efficiency is low are solved.

The machine for marking serial numbers on identification plates (31) for motor vehicle components has an upper numbering wheel (2) which may be a female mould or matrix member, and a lower numbering wheel (3) for the male mould, each wheel consisting of a side by side set of discs (4, 5) mounted on a spindle (7, 8). Each disc carries a set of characters around its periphery and is operated by a data fed controller. The mechanism which controls their rotation is a rectangular frame with verticals (11) supporting cross members (9, 10) which act as racks to rotate pinions which are the discs. Each frame is in turn actuated by a set of horizontal rods (12 to 15) which move forwards or backwards. The numbering wheels are also raised and lowered to carrying out their stamping action on the plates (31).
