A cartridge for use in an extension tool is arranged to receive one or more foil bags containing a single component or a multi-component mass and is formed of a cylinder (3) defining one or more receiving chambers (13) open at the opposite ends thereof. An axially displaceable piston (5) has opposite end faces (5b, 5c) extending across the cylinder (3) and each end face is symmetrical about its axis. The end faces of the piston can be used alternately for dispensing the mass out of the one or more foil bags.

A glue injector for injecting glue under high pressure is described that comprises a barrel (2), a plunger (3) that is received within the barrel and extends rearwardly through an aperture (19) in the body (4) of a handle which carries a pair of opposed finger grips (5, 6). The finger grips are located at the rear portion of the barrel and laterally of the barrel and are elongated so as to each accommodate two fingers. The plunger (3) comprises a shaft (12), a piston (13) at its front end and a head (14) at its back end. The piston includes a resilient disc, washer and bolt. The bolt is threadedly attached to the front end of the piston to provide with the resilient disc and washer a tight seal. The barrel has a tapered nozzle attached to its front end. The tapered nozzle is threadedly attached to the front end of the glue injector barrel.

The device (10) for the release of material (202) for processing, comprises an actuator device (800), by means of which a guide rod (1), mounted for axial displacement, provided on the front thereof with a threaded pin (12) for connection to a piston (5), may be introduced into a cylinder (9; 309), such that the piston (5) acts on the material (202) for processing in the cylinder (9; 309) and forces the same from the cylinder (9; 309). According to the invention, the piston (5) comprises two opposing faces (5A, 5B), the first face (5A) of which acts on the material (202) for processing, housed in a bag (200), introduced into the cylinder (9) and the second face (5B) of which acts on material (202) for processing housed in the cylinder (309) in a cartridge (300) introduced into the device (10). The device (10) thus permits, after corresponding assembly of the piston (5), the processing of a bag introduced into the cylinder (9), or a cartridge (300) which may be inserted in the device (10).

An adjustable piston packing expander for use with conventional caulking gun piston assemblies is disclosed. The packing expander threads onto the piston rod and includes a frusto-conical expansion surface which contacts the inner surface of the packing wherein advanced threading of the packing expander onto the piston rod will adjustably expand the packing into sealing engagement with the gun barrel walls. A set screw locks the packing expander in adjustment relative to the packing. A lock washer keyed to the square piston rod and interlocked to a rear piston rod washer having locking pins extending into the packing and forming a part of the piston assembly interlocks the packing against motion relative to the piston rod.
